The new DANI Academy is born

Young talents at the heart of the new collections born from the creative international project of the Vicenza tannery dedicated to Impact Zero.

The new Dani Academy project, the international workshop of ideas with which the historic tannery of Arzignano wants to build a new research path on leather design anchored to the sustainability of Zero Impact, has begun.

Milan and Venice are the first two stages that will bring the brightest talents of the design schools to confront themselves on the sustainable innovation of leather, one of the most appreciated sectors of the entire Made in Italy, through two separate workshops, the first one dedicated to Zero Impact and the second one to the creative recycling of processing waste.

Zero Impact, the result of ten years of R&D, is the technological platform that allow to create collections free of heavy metals, with very low environmental impact, less water consumption and use of chemicals, pollutant load and CO2 emissions reduced to a minimum and offset through emission offset plans certified by UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change).

“Research & Development have always been a fundamental part of our work” comments Giancarlo Dani, who leads the Vicenza-based multinational with offices and customers all over the world. “I strongly believe in the fundamental role that young people have in imagining what was not there, pushing the boundaries of the known. Our Academy also wants to be a bridge able to bring schools closer to the world of work in a direct and concrete way: I don’t deny that there is a lot of interest in evaluating future collaborations with those young people who are very much in tune with the Dani world”.

Dani Academy starts from NABA, in Milano, with its first stage that will include two workshops aimed at producing a capsule collection completely Zero Impact, both garments and accessories, and ten design proposals born from trimmings and waste materials from the treatment of leather. The finalist collections, garments and accessories will then be exhibited at the Lineapelle showroom in Milan.

Early fall, it will be the turn of the University IUAV of Venice and then the debut abroad at the Institut Français de la Mode in Paris. At that point, the baton will be passed on to other institutes in Italy and abroad that are also involved in other sectors such as Automotive and Interior Design.
