Every week, the company processes 30,000 fresh and salted hides to give shape to the most creative and daring ideas of stylists and designers, to embellish the interiors of the most prestigious cars and to bring comfort and warmth to homes all over the world.
Aesthetics, reliability, durability: for DANI, these goals can only be achieved in one way, by carefully selecting the raw material and performing scrupulous quality controls throughout the production chain.

1950
Angelo Dani hand-built his first wooden drum.
1970
The responsibility for the company passed into the hands of his six children.
1980
The 1980s saw the development of upholstery leather, where DANI is still remembered today for the “DANI cuoietto leather”.
1990
The early 1990s were characterised by the entry into the technical footwear sector, which requires high-performance leathers.
1995
“Instant Service” is launched: the warehouse that gives all customers the possibility of receiving a wide variety of leathers within 24/48 hours, without minimum order quantities.
2005
The new millennium opens the door to internationalisation with two commercial branches in the USA and China and a new warehouse in the USA.
2009
Direct supply to the most prestigious automotive brands consolidated and grew.
2010
DANI Academy is founded: the new workshop of ideas that brings together businesses and the academic world to build together a new research path in leather design based on sustainability.
2011
DANI is the first tannery in the world to obtain the Carbon Footprint and EPD (Environmental Product Declaration): Intentional and responsible commitment to sustainability begins.
2012
Giancarlo Dani receives from the hands of the President of the Republic, Giorgio Napolitano, the prestigious " Award of Awards for Innovation".
2013
Steady growth leads to the opening of two specialised leather cutting and stitching plants in Tunisia and Slovenia for the automotive and furniture/contract sectors.
2014
Chairman Giancarlo Dani, who was the first to understand the importance of pursuing product excellence through environmentally responsible paths, is awarded the title of Cavaliere del Lavoro by then President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano.
2016
Showrooms are set up in New York, Shanghai and Arzignano. In these exhibition spaces, the company's leathers and values captivate customers/visitors with their beauty and depth.
2018
Saw the consolidation of the DANI&Volpi partnership in Tuscany.
2020
The American market is also followed with a comprehensive service through the DANI&TS/MLI partnership in Mexico.
2021
A green alliance is signed between DANI, Gruppo Dolomiti Energia and Finint Investments SGR for the supply of renewable electricity produced by photovoltaic plants, located in various regions of Italy, to meet the Group's electricity requirements. This energy supply will avoid the total emission of 18,000 tonnes of CO2 over the next three years.
2022
DANI, together with 30 other international leather industry organisations, drafted the 'Leather Manifesto' calling on UN representatives attending the Climate Change Conference (COP27) to prioritise natural materials as a means to mitigate climate impact. The Manifesto brings to their attention the cyclical and climate-efficient characteristics of natural fibres and their potential to reduce the climate impact of consumer products.
2023
DANI travels into the future to achieve a very important milestone: emissions neutrality (EU target by 2050). By quantifying and reporting the impact of its activities associated with the emission of climate-altering gases (CO2 first and foremost), it then drafted a "Carbon Reduction Strategy" that exploits all the steps aimed at a decarbonization pathway and finally offset the remaining allowances through certified carbon credits.
2024
DANI ranked first in the “Top 100 ESG Excellence Environmental” category, with the motivation: 'For its strong commitment to addressing climate change and promoting the responsible use of natural resources.'
